LATEST ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE PRODUCTION FIELD
|
To meet the demands of our constantly growing number of ferroalloy consumers the ferroalloy producers in Ukraine, Georgia and Romania utilize highly automated manufacturing processes using the latest updated technology and equipment. One of the recent upgrades is the implementation of container use technology for shipping manufactured material which promotes the following advantages: 1. Elimination of material fines forming; 2. More efficient cost of freight transportation; 3. Avoidance of material loss at all stages of transportation; 4. Preservation of purity of the material delivered, without any outside particles. |

Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant Nikopol ferroalloy plant, one of the largest global producers of manganese alloys is now using its new Container Terminal to load and place containers and big bags on rail flatbeds. The storage capacity of the terminal is 1900 MT; the terminal is able to fit up to 300 containers and load and ship 57 a day. Such high volume is achieved by means of well coordinated material delivery process and use of various types of newest loading and discharge machinery. The terminal operation personnel follows strict procedure requirements prior to loading – clean up containers, monitor the amounts stored and shipped out, ensure the correct size and chemical content as per contract, inspect the material for outside particles and portion it for packing and shipping. |
| Zaporozh'e Ferroalloy Plant
In September 2010 Zaporozh’ye Ferroalloy Plant activated a new application for container use to ship manufactured alloys. The facility of this application allows room for 28 containers to be placed for loading. The plant uses Bobcat-type mini-loaders to stuff up to 14 containers a day. The goal is to increase the size of the container application facility to be able to load up to 40 containers a day and bring the shipping operation to the next level. |

Zestafoni Ferroalloy Plant (Georgian Manganese, LLC) Zestafony Ferroalloy Plant located in Georgia has recently put into operation big bag packing and container loading equipment on premises which resulted in increase in shipping capabilities of the plant up to 20 containers a day. Specifics of the container stuffing at Zestafoni ferroalloy plant: 1. Rolling conveyer to evenly fill ferroalloys inside the container; 2. Electric scales to provide exact weight during loading; 3. Location of the equipment is next to the stored material which allows for fast container loading and placing on train flatbeds inside the arehouse and without having to use any special technology. |

Since the container stuffing procedure was applied, the plant facility expanded its distribution to Japan, South-East Asia, North, Central and South America. Crushing-Screening In 2009 Zestafoni Ferroalloy Plant installed new crushing-screening machinery which improved the facility’s sizing operation. The crushing process allows for the following sizes: 10-50 mm, 10-80 mm, 10-100 mm, 50-100 mm. Any other size can be custom-crushed upon request. Planned capacity of the crusher is 200 MT/hour which allows the plant to process all produced material. |
